What it costs and where your data goes
Lazy Reader is free while in beta. What costs money is the AI model that writes your summaries, and you pay for that yourself, with your own key.
The two keys

There is no Lazy Reader AI plan in between. Your key calls the model you choose under AI model. See Get an OpenRouter key.
Instagram hides posts behind a login, so Lazy Reader reads them through SociaVault on your own key. Without that key, Instagram saves wait with Needs a key. Every other source needs no second key.
See what you used
Settings, Usage shows "What Lazy Reader used on your SociaVault and OpenRouter keys." It counts only this app's calls, from the day the page was added, not your whole balance with either service.
- Pick a period: 7 days, 30 days or All time.
- Two totals at the top: SociaVault credits and OpenRouter tokens, with the cost when it is known.
- By feature: Summaries, Books, File as resources, Resource sorting, Instagram pictures and Instagram posts. The info button on each row says what it counts.
- By model and By day tables.
Adding a book also shows a cost estimate before you start.
Where your data is kept
- Your account, saves, summaries and settings are stored at Supabase in the EU (Frankfurt). The website runs on Cloudflare. Backups are kept in Cloudflare R2 in the EU.
- Your API keys are stored encrypted.
- The text of a saved page goes to OpenRouter and the model provider you picked, with your own key, to write the summary. Instagram links go to SociaVault.
- A book's file never leaves your device. Only its text is sent.
- For a newsletter, the sender, subject, text and a message id are stored. Attachments and raw emails are not kept. The log of senders, subjects and outcomes is deleted after 30 days.
- When you connect Claude, the consent screen says it "never sees your API keys".

Your rights
- Download everything, under Settings, Your copy, gives you a zip of Markdown files with your library.
- Delete account, under Settings, Account, deletes every saved item and summary and your profile, for good. You type DELETE to confirm.
